A natural and very rare specimen of pyrite cubes stacked on each other with minimal matrix. from Navajún, Spain
Pyrite, nicknamed “Fool’s Gold,” resembles gold merely in appearance. Growing in cubes, nodules, tiny crystals and even flat discs, Pyrite is in fact quite brittle and cannot be bent or shaped like gold. Striking Pyrite with steel can even cause the sulphur in it to produce sparks!
