Herkimer Diamonds (found exclusively in Herkimer County N.Y.)
are not diamonds but perfectly crystallized silicon dioxide –
double pointed Quartz Crystals that have already been faceted
by nature. Herkimer Diamonds are found in pockets deep within
solid chunks of basalt. Miners spend years digging for these
hidden pockets, which sometimes yield thousands of brilliant
crystals. Known as “the harvester” because of its claimed ability to
draw out toxins, it has similar qualities to quartz. A powerful
amplifier, it can enhance dream awareness. Herkimer Diamond is
also said to be a stone of balance that can help harmonize the
energy of other stones.
