Dioptase from Kazakhstan
Late in the 18th century, copper miners in Kazakhstan thought they
found the emerald deposit of their dreams; thousands of lustrous
deep green transparent crystals. Analysis determined the mineral
as new to science and it was named Dioptase (Greek, dia, “through”
and optima, “vision”), alluding to the two directions of growth visible
inside unbroken crystals. Dioptase is said to bring understanding of
one’s roles in life and the roles of others. It is known to stimulate
forgiveness and responsibility for one’s own life and evolvement.
Supporting the emotional heart, strengthening the physical heart and
awakening the spiritual heart, Dioptase is thought to be excellent
for helping one through intense life transitions.
