Meanings:
Astrophyllite is a rare silicate mineral discovered in Norway in 1854. It is found in cavities and fissures of unusual igneous rock in scarce and remote locals in Quebec, Colorado, Greenland and Russia as well. Though its name conjurs images of astral bodies, which this stone indeed resembles, Astrophyllite is in fact named for the way it grows – in bladed and radiating star formations. The greek word “Astron” means star and “phyllon” means leaf. Astrophyllite is said to engender self-esteem, and a sense of well-being. It is often used to help reveal one’s life purpose, allow the release of unhealthy patterns and inspire a sense of limitless- ness within.
