Description

Agate, a form of Chalcedony, comes in a variety of colours and
designs almost as vast as its beauty. It forms by slowly filling a host
rock, producing concentric bands over time. Agate often grows in
nodule-shaped deposits which can be carved into a bowl. Agate
bowls were collected by European royalty during the Renaissance.
Historically, Agate was valued as a talisman and used to quench
thirst and heal fevers. Legend states that Persian magicians used
Agate to divert storms. Agate is thought to balance yin and yang,
offer courage, protection and healing. It is also said to enhance
creativity and intellect, stimulating one’s concentration, precision
and analytic capabilities.
