Kunzite, named after gemologist George Kunz, was discovered at the turn of the twentieth century in California. It is an unusual and rare stone. Kunzite is considered a stone for love. It is said to stimulate loving thoughts, facilitate loving communication, increase self-love (and therefore assist with habit-breaking) as well as help one connect to the unconditional Universal love. Kunzite’s transparent, soft pastel colours symbolize purity and new life and it is sometimes
regarded as a stone for pregnancy. Kunzite’s gentle energy is thought to provide a sense of peace that penetrates to one’s core allowing one to remain calm/centred in the midst of chaos or distraction. Kunzite also contains lithium so it is said to help mental illness.
