Description

Mosasaurs were prehistoric marine reptiles that cruised the
ancient shallow seas that covered North Africa 65 million years
ago. A carnivorous terror to other marine species, they were
shaped like a giant sea serpent with front and back flippers, a
large head and huge jaws lined with threatening teeth. They
grew as long as 60 feet, and they spent their entire lives in the
water, even though they breathed air. Because of its size and
fearsome appearance, the Mosasaur has often been called the
T. Rex of the ancient world’s oceans.
