Description
Unakite, is an “altered” form of granite (igneous) – a unique blend of pink feldspar and green epidote which have grown together, as if they were one stone. Interestingly, epidote takes its name from the Greek word epidosis, meaning “growing together.” Unakite however, was named for the Unaka Mountain in Tennessee/North Carolina where it was discovered. The appealing grapefruit and pistachio colourations of Unakite make it a beautiful, pastoral stone often used in jewelry and carvings. Unakite is said to be a stone of vision, a stone that balances emotions with spirituality, and allows one to release what no longer serves them. Some believe that Unakite can help to stimulate a healthy pregnancy.
