Discovered in 1954, Ruby in zoisite is from only one location on earth Tanzania, Africa<\/p>\n

Ruby in zoisite is a rock that is comprised of 3 minerals: corundum aka ruby (red), zoisite (green), and hornblende (black). Corundum aka ruby has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness.<\/p>\n

Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ruby has a very long history as a precious stone. The first written
\nreference to ruby deposits (though likely found much earlier) came
\nfrom the 6th century C.E. and mention Burma (still a main source).
\nRubies were worn by Burmese soldiers to protect them in battle.
\nRuby was one of the stones used in the breastplate of the ancient
\nhigh priest and during the Middle Ages was regarded as the \u201cLord
\nof Gems\u201d and \u201cThe most precious of the twelve stones God
\ncreated.\u201d It is thought to bring courage and success in controversy,
\nencourage gentleness and discourage violence. Legend says that
\nwhen one retains a bit of ruby, wealth will never depart and it will
\nprotect against unhappiness, bad dreams and lightning.<\/p>\n
