Dioptase from Kazakhstan<\/p>\n
Late in the 18th century, copper miners in Kazakhstan thought they
\nfound the emerald deposit of their dreams; thousands of lustrous
\ndeep green transparent crystals. Analysis determined the mineral
\nas new to science and it was named Dioptase (Greek, dia, “through”
\nand optima, “vision”), alluding to the two directions of growth visible
\ninside unbroken crystals. Dioptase is said to bring understanding of
\none\u2019s roles in life and the roles of others. It is known to stimulate
\nforgiveness and responsibility for one\u2019s own life and evolvement.
