Cut and Polished on one face Septarian Geode Pair from Utah, USA with a metal stand<\/p>\n
Septarians are nodules or geodes formed 50 to 70 million years ago when
\nthe Gulf of Mexico reached what is now Utah. Decomposing sea life killed
\nby volcanic eruptions formed into bentonite clay balls with the sediment
\naround them. As the ocean receded, these balls were left to dry, shrink
\nand crack. Calcite from decomposed shells was carried down into the
\ncracks forming calcite crystals. This thin wall of Calcite transformed into
\nAragonite separating the heavy clay exteriors from the Calcite centers.
\nThis dividing wall or saeptum (Latin), gives Septarian its name. Septarian,
\nalso known as Dragonstone, is a healing stone beneficial to overall health
\nand well being. Septarian is known to encourage open communication
\nwithin groups, allowing each person to speak clearly and kindly. Septarian
